A pump (2) draws fuel from a tank (4) and delivers it to a carburettor. A non return valve (1) is placed between the pump (2) and the carburettor (3). It consists of a cylinder containing a ball which is pressed against an inlet opening by a spring inside the cylinder. The spring tension can be adjusted by a screw (5). A bypass is taken from this non return valve to a similar non return valve placed between the fuel tank and the pump (2). The valves are adjusted and set so that if the pump delivers more fuel than the engine needs, the excess is recirculated instead of being allowed to trickle into the carburettor.
|
