Appts. includes a descending duct connecting at its lower end into a first chamber (I). The textile advances into (I) via the duct into which treatment fluid is fed. The textile is advanced out of (I) by a feed roll situated above it, and fed into a second chamber in which a rotating perforated roll is located. The second chamber contains treatment liq. and the textile passes tangentially around the perforated roll back into the descending duct. The fabric is subjected to uniform tensions thereby ensuring more uniform dyeing. Felting is avoided.
