<p>An "incombustible" decorative wall covering of composite material comprises adhering to the back of a decorative or facing sheet, e.g. of glass fibres, a supporting sheet, e.g. of non-woven cloth; controlled pyrolysis of at least one of the sheets having been carried out before or after adhering them together, so as to lower the calorific value. The controlled pyrolysis is carried out using as control the unit weight, the colour and/or the mechanical strength of the products. It is effected by passing over a heated roller of controlled temp., through a controlled atmosphere oven, under an infra-red lamp or through a hot gas column. The support material is pref. brown after heating. The wall covering has a calorific value of 600 kcal/kg.</p> |
