Hyperbolic radio source monitor - has receivers with delay devices, one of which is variable and which is used to equalise propagation times

A hyperbolic monitoring device is described for use with a source (S) transmitting radiowaves. Each measurement base has a central radio set having two inputs (C and D) which receive signals which reproduce the phases of the wave at two points (A and B) which characterise the base. Two delay devices one of which is variable are included, one is connected to C and its output to a point G while the other is connected to D with its output to a point H. A circuit adjusts the delay introduced by the delay device so that the propagation time along path SACG is equal to that along SBDH. A computer receives the signal from the delay adjusting circuit and uses it to calculate the location of the source (S).
