The cross-country ski binding comprises a base plate, a pair of side members for guiding the front part of the sole of a boot and means for clamping this front part; the clamping means include a resilient clamp pivotally mounted to a first fixed axis and an actuating mechanism that consists of a lever located frontwardly of the clamp; the lever is pivotally mounted to a second fixed axis and is hingedly connected to the clamp, the hinge connection being located between the first and second axes and passing through a dead center point when the lever is moved between a sole engaging position and a sole releasing position. |
