The microscope focusxing drive in three different stages uses pinion arrangement in driving housing (4). The pinion bearing bush (6) is accommodated in the driving housing (4). It supports a pinion shaft (7) with a gear (7b) at one end and a pinion (7a) which meshes with a rack (2) fixed to the specimen stand (1). The pinion shaft (7) supports a high-speed adjusting shaft (8). The high-speed adjusting shaft (8) supports a coarse adjustment shaft (9). The coarse adjustment shaft (9) supports a fine adjustment shaft (10) with a pinion (10c). The adjustment shafts have knobs at both ends.
