Plug connector for dip thermal lance - eliminates balance conductors and optimises thermo-electrical plug characteristic

A plug connection between the measurement probe and temp. sensor of a dip thermal lance for use in steel smelting temp. measurement is designed to avoid the necessity of balance conductors in the temp. sensor by using the thermocouple wires as the plug contact surfaces. The thermo-electrical characteristics of the connection are thus optimised. A contact pin is arranged coaxial to and isolated from a contact cylinder inside the lance and a contact element of insulating material carries the temp. sensor consisting of a thermocouple in ceramic material. The thermocouple wires protrude from the ceramic material through the contact element from the connection with the pin and cylinder.
