Sprung support surface for ambulances - permits swinging into lowest possible position and spring pivot system protects against sudden movements

A support surface esp. for use in ambulance etc. has a spring system so attached that the surface automatically positions itself in the lowest spring position irrespective of whether it is loaded, empty or being unloaded. The entire system may be swung out of the open rear doors of the ambulance to allow the surface to be loaded with a patient, or to allow the patient to be removed at the destination. This arrangement requires min. lifting of patient and protects against knocks and other sudden movements.
