Cover arrangement for metallurgical casting ladies, is readily handled and locked into position. It also ensures long life of the fireproof ceramic lining. The cover has a circular edge (1) rim which is connected firmly to the ladle by spring loaded connectors. The circular middle section is locked with the edge region and the middle section has rotating bracket. The circular edge can be subdivided into segments. The edge of the cover remains on the ladle and this eliminates the need for sealing between the cover and the ladle for each treatment. The fireproof lining is no longer damaged due to the lowering and lifting of the cover and is protected against expansion and cracking and also against erosion. Metallurgical treatment is carried out through the opening in the mid section.
