When xenon lamps are used for tests of the weathering resistance and fastness against light, it is most desirable to keep the quantity of light emitted constant. This can be done and the lamp can be made immune against temperature fluctuations by acting on the temperature dependent properties of the light reception part. The light from the lamp is received at one end (3) of a bundle (1) of fibre optical glass guides (1), each of 2-3 mm diameter, and coated by a vacuum evaporated aluminium film (2). At the exit end (4) the light is received by a silicon photocell (8) and thermistor (9) bonded to a ring (10). After amplification the signal is compared with a reference signal and a motor is actuated to adjust a voltage regulator for the xenon lamp voltage.
|
