Light expanded building elements or panels - where hot expanded clay is moulded using dielectric or microwave heating

Heated and expanded granulate is subjected to further heating which causes distortion so relatively large cavities in the clay are filled and the clay is sintered to a monolithic body. The further heating of the hot granulate is achieved by electromagnetic H.F. heating. The H.C. is pref. 100, (25-30) MHz, or alternatively >1000 (2400-2500) MHz. i.e. either dielectric heating or microwave heating is used. The building elements are normally made by gas heating, where the gas flows in alternate directions, but a uniform sintered product is not obtd. The invention provides a uniform product with economical use of H.F. heating.
