The screen winding of a ring-cored repeater coil is used in a telecommunicationn system. The thickness of the layer is reduced around the remaining hole. The screen is adaptable to different sizes of ring cored repeat or coils. The screen consists of two strp foils (2, 3) made from an electrically conducting material and folded into a rectangular shape. It has a large number of slits (6) at right angles to the longitudinal axis reaching almost to one edge (4), producing a plumage shape. The other edge (5) is provided with an insulating adhesive tape (7). Each screen strips covers approximately half the circumference of the coil.
