Overloading protection of superimposed regulating circuit is performed where regulator output forms guide variable for regulator of second regulating circuit. The guide variable given for the superimposed regulating circuit is defined by a load-independent value. It corresponds to the regulating variable of this regulating circuit increased by one adjustable fixed rate section. A voltage guide variable is adjusted for the regulation of the motor voltage which determines the speed by means of a nominal value transducer. It is applied across the input of a minimum value read-out element which makes a constant comparison of the guide variable passed to the inputs.
