Tubular electrical plug and socket connector - joins electrical units with locking fittings in housing giving positive engagement

A plug and socket connector are used for joining two electrical units. They are easy to separate% and reconnect without introducing undesirable interference in the system. The plug section is made with male contacts and the socket section with matching female contacts. The socket (II) is made with a tubular housing fitting (13) and a metallic housing (14) hold by a lug. The plug section (12) has three holes (46) in the outer casing (45) to engage the hooks when the system is plugged in. There are also some spring loaded elements on the socket which are depressed when the plug is engaged. A socket ring is then rotated to get the two units to mesh.
