<p>The cover which sits on the rim (1) of the aquarium (2) which is open at the top, consists of a trough-shaped piece (3) with sides (4, 5) forming a duct (6) for electrical cables. The sides (4, 5) bend towards each other to move side strips (7, 8) situated on the same plane. The strips (7, 8) act as hinged covers (9, 10). Pivot pins (10a) on arms (10b) rest on the side strips (7, 8). A cover plate (11) covers the trough shaped piece (3) and the side strips, and encloses the top of the service duct (6). The plate (11) on each side of its lengthwise axis near the front edge incorporates bearings (11a) for the pins (10a). The arms (10b) of the lid (9) project outwards through slits. The cover plate is pref. screwed to the trough-shaped piece (3). The side strips (7, 8) act as reflectors for the light (2) which consists pref. of one or more tubes.</p> |
