<p>The iron comprises an electrically heated sole plate with a steam generating chamber, a water tank above the sole plate, and a sprinkler and cleaning steam jet nozzle each of which has a pump with a common housing, a common inlet pipe, and separate outlet pipes for the two pumps. Associated with the outlet opening of the outlet pipe for the cleaning steam jet nozzle is a distributor bridge which spans the steam generating chamber and which leads into the steam distributing chamber. Pref. the distributor bridge is of U-shaped cross-section, with the arms of the U directed towards a cover plate for the steam generating and distributing chambers and forming a channel for the water conveyed out of the outlet opening of the outlet pipe for the jet of cleaning steam.</p> |
