摘要 1472349 Mould opening and closing unit S TSUTSUMI 15 July 1975 [17 July 1974] 29639/75 Heading B5A A mould clamping unit for an injection moulding machine comprises a fixed mould platen 2, a movable mould platen 1 sliding on tie bars 5, and a thrust member 8 which is movable with the movable platen 1 and can be fixed in position on the tie bars 5; a thrust means 11 acting between the thrust member 8 and the movable platen 1 for thrusting the platens together and apart when the thrust member 8 is fixed to the tie bars, and means for fixing the thrust member to the tie bars 5 comprising fixed abutments 12 on the tie bars and movable locking members 19, 21 on the thrust member 8 some of which (19) can be moved into engagement with the abutments 12 on the side nearest the movable platen 1 to enable the thrust means 11 to press the movable platen 1 to the fixed platen 2, and some of which (21) can be moved into engagement on the other side of the abutment to enable the thrust means 11 to force the platens apart after moulding. In Fig. 4 the mould has been closed by a long stroke cylinder 6, the locking members 19 have been rotated into position between the abutments 12 on the tie bars 5 and the thrust plate 8, and the toggle clamp 11 has been operated by hydraulic cylinder 9 to clamp the mould. After moulding the toggle clamp 11 is released, the locking members 19 are rotated clear of the abutments 12, and the locking members 20 are rotated into position between the abutments 12 and plates 13 attached to the plate 8 by pins 14 as shown in Fig. 6. Thrust is then applied in the reverse direction by the toggle clamp via abutments 12 to part the mould halves. The mould is opened fully by cylinder 6, the abutments 12 passing through holes 15 in the plate 8 (Fig. 1, not shown). A certain degree of play a is required between the abutments 12 and the locking members 19, 20 to enable the thrust on them to be relieved when they are moved into and out of position. The locking members 19, 20 may be rotated by cylinders 21<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 9, or by rollers 26, 27, Fig. 7, engaging cams 24, 25 which are driven by gearing mounted on a threaded extension 23 of the piston rod of the cylinder 9 to give automatic rotation of the locking members 19, 20 with operation of the clamping cylinder 9. A guide linkage 28, 29, Fig. 8, is attached to the arms of the members 19, 20 remote from the rollers 26, 27. In Fig. 9 the toggle linkage 11 has been replaced by short stroke cylinders 34 acting between the fixed platen 2 and the tie bars 5.
