1354834 Stackable and nestable containers G J REINDERS 3 Aug 1972 [5 Aug 1971] 36248/72 Heading B8P A stackable and nestable container for fish has corrugated side and end walls 1-4 which widen towards the top of the container, the crests of the corrugations on one wall being opposite the troughs of the corrugations on the opposite wall so that two such containers may be stacked when orientated at 180 degrees relative to each other. A horizontal stacking surface 21 surrounded by a rim 22 is provided at the top of each wall and nose projections 24 are provided on the surface 21 at the top of the side walls 2, 4 to locate standing strips 25 formed at the base of the side walls 2, 4 of an identical container stacked thereon. Recesses (29) are provided in the rim 22 of the end walls 2, 4 to receive the standing strips 25 of an identical container stacked thereon and displaced longitudinally therefrom. The upper part of the container is reinforced externally by a horizontal flange 30, vertical bracing members 33 projecting from the crests of the corrugations, and obliquely inclined members 35. In a modification, horizontal members (37) and oblique members (38, 39, 40) replace the members 35. Handle holes (18) are provided in the end walls 1, 3, their perimeters being reinforced by a horizontal web 31, vertical webs 36 and an optional extension of the flange 30. The floor 5 of the container is convex and has an annular drainage channel (8) adjacent its centre with a plurality of radial drainage channels 6 extending therefrom to drainage openings 7.
