1499062 Security vehicle doors SECURICOR Ltd 19 Jan 1976 02014/76 Heading B7B A security load compartment on a vehicle has an access opening 13 in which a rotatable drum 14 is situated, the drum having an opening 18, in its wall and being rotatable to bring the opening 18 into register with the access opening 13 or to close the access opening with a portion of its wall. The drum, which is generally circular or of many sided polygonal cross-section, is mounted by rolling means in a recess in the load compartment floor (Fig. 3, not shown). The drum is driven through pulleys by an electric motor (Fig. 4, not shown) controlled by a switch 32. As a slidable bar 29 at the compartment interior is withdrawn from one of two spaced notches 25 each adjacent cam face 26, switch 32 is closed and the motor started. When bar 29 encounters the next cam face, spring 30 urges the bar upwardly and switch 32 opens to shut off the motor. External doors 15, 16 are provided for the access opening, the door 16 forming a continuation of the load compartment floor when open. |
