In the machine, a web is dewatered on a horizontal section of an endless bottom wire to an extent precluding further relative movements of the fibres, the web then being sandwiched between the bottom wire and an endless top wire and conveyed along a curved path such that further water is removed through the top wire under centrifugal force supplemented by air pressure.
