Airship powered by Diesel engine - uses hydraulic motors to actuate controls and drive propeller and has cabin suspended from balloon by ball bearings

The airship consists of a balloon of plastic film in the shape of a lens and inflated with helium. A fuel tank is attached to the balloon by nylon cords and the pilots' cabin is suspended from the tank by ball bearings. An aluminium ring surrounds the balloon and carries blades of variable pitch which can be controlled by a hydraulic motor. The blades are provided with reactors which control the lift of the airship. The airship is driven by a propeller through a hydraulic motor supplied by a pump driven by the diesel engine.
