<p>Toe in or toe out of wheels on the same axle of a motor vehicle is determined using a light projector and scale. Calculation errors are eliminated using direct reading scales. Toe in or toe out of wheels (3) is measured by projecting light from projectors (4) onto scales (1,2). The projectors pivot around the horizontal axes towards front or rear as required. A graduated curser (5) mounted on one scale (1) has a centre zero scale and an indicator (6). When the scales on one side have been aligned the other rear scale is rear and the pointer on the curser (5) set to indicate this value. The projected spot on the cursor gives the toe in or toe out.</p> |
