<p>New naphtoxy-propanolamine derivs. are cpds. of formula (I) and their salts. In (I), R1 is H, halogen, OH, acyloxy, NO2, NH2, mono- or di(1-4C alkyl)amino, 1-6C alkanesulphonamido, 116C alkylthio, 1-6C alkylsulphinyl, 1-6C alkylsulphonyl, a gp. -SO2NR4R5, or a gp. -NR6- CO-(CH2)nCH3. R2 is H, 1-4C alkyl or benzyl. R3 is H, 1-10C alkyl or benzyl, R4 and R5 are H or 1-6C alkyl. R6 is H or CH3. n is 0-6. (I) are adrenergic beta-receptor blocking agents. They can be used for treating tachycardia (hyperkinetic syndrome, thyrotoxicosis, paroxysmal tachycardia), angina pectoris, myocardial ischaemia, arterial hypertension and anxiety states. Specific cpds. (I) include 1-isopropylamino-3-(1,4-ethano-1,4-dihydro-5-naphyloxy)-2-propano- l. In an example, thisis prepd. by reacting 5-hydroxy-1,4-ethano-1,4-dihydronaphthalene with epichlorohydrin and treating the prod. with isopropylamine.</p> |
