<p>The transportable ballet exercise bar stands on heavy, funnel-shaped, cast iron feet. To assist in moving the bar into position for use or storage, the base is provided with rollers (a). These rollers are positioned so that they only contact the floor when the feet are tipped. To allow dancers of all ages to use the bar, two bars are provided, one above the other. The bars are glued together in layers to produce a laminated oval cross-section to give greater resistance to bowing. The bars are fitted to the feet by means of clamps held by a small hand screw. This method produces bars which are strong and stable, yet are easily transported about the hall before and after use, and can be easily dismantled for transportation by car.</p> |
