<p>Appts. for the prodn. of pressure gas by catalytic decomposition of a liq. monergol, the total amt. of mineral being divided into >=2 parts one part then being catalytically decomposed in the atomised state, while the other also atomised part is mixed with the decomposition gases coming from the catalyst and thermally cracked by these, is improved in that: (a) the appts. is provided with a decomposition chamber in which a central distributor tube for liq. monergol, and esp. only for the portion to be decomposed thermally, extends longitudinally; (b) a catalyst body is located in the region of the end of the distributor tube at the inlet end of the decomposition chamber for the first part quantity of monergol and has in known manner an inlet surface parallel to its outlet surface and perpendicular to the distributor tube axis; (c) >=1 injection plate provided parallel to the catalyst body and fixed to the distributor tube between the catalyst and the end of the tube at the chamber outlet end, perpendicularly to the tube axis; the dimensions of the plate are so chosen that in known manner, a slot type flow path open to the chamber outlet remains between the plate and the lateral boundary wall of the decomposition chamber and (d) the injection plates are provided with peripherally distributed radial channels which are connected both with interior of the distributor tube and via injection bores with the decomposition chamber; these injection pref. face the catalyst and/or outlet and/or lateral boundary wall of the decomposition chamber. Enables the dia. to be cut down partic. to match that of the rockets with which it is intended to be used.</p> |
