A vacuum cleaner pipe connection has the pipe end (1) fitted into a sleeve (2), in turn connected to a flexible tube, the movement being limited by an internal shoulder (13) on the sleeve abutting a radially outward joggle (10) on the pipe. A lug (9') pressed inwardly from the wall of the sleeve passes through a slot (7') in the joggle to the free edge of the pipe. Rotation of the sleeve then engages the lug with a cam contour (8) at that free edge so that the sleeve is firmly drawn against the joggle shoulder.
