An outdoor light fitting for gardens etc. is readily connected to the electrical able of another light fitting, without need for providing a plug and socket connection subject to damp proofing regulations. A cylindrical housing (2) under the lamp shade contains a connection block (13) which can be used for attaching the supply cable for another lamp. This block is sealed against damp and has two holes through the base (7) for sealing sleeves (6, 8) for the wires or for closure caps. In one design, the base (7) slopes downwards. The cylindrical housing (2) fits inside a curved sheet with a pointed base for inserting in the soil.
