<p>Coupling arrangement of light guide fibres has self-focusing part fixed to fibre end and reduces effect of core eccentricity. A converging lens is fused centrally to the fibre end, so that the focal point is within the fibre on the fibre axis. For the connection to a laser diode, the lens is designed as a cylinder lens and its dia. corresponds to approximately the large dimension of the radiating surface of the diode. For the connection of two light guide fibres, each fibre end is provided with a lens. The light guide fibre (3, 4) is inserted in the crucible (1).</p> |
