<p>Nasal plug comprises a pear-shaped, air -permeable, elastically deformable cage made of plastic. The plug pref. comprises a solid collar in its central region in which region it may be split, with the two cage sections push-fitted or welded together. The cage may contain an air-permeable filling e.g. cotton wool, and a larger opening for introducing the filling. The solid collar joins the two hemispherical parts of the cage which are made of perforated film material or netting. The collar maintains the elasticity of each hemispherical part, and prevents one hemispherical part from being deformed on deformation of the other part. The plug may be made in one piece from injection moulded plastic material, and the filling may also be made integrally of the same material as the cage.</p> |
