<p>The press comprises a stationary pressure plate and a relatively pivotable pressure plate, a least one of which is heated. Between the two plates is a hinge joint with a U-shaped frame of which the two arms continue the working area of the press, which is determined by the working area of the stationary plate, beyond the periphery of the plate. Pref. the hinge joint comprises a pair of longitudinally spaced independent U-frames which are attached to the pressure plates and of which the arms are directed away from the longitudinal edges of the pressure plates when the press is in use. The two arms may lie in a common vertical plane which is parallel to the direction of pivoting of the movable pressure plate when the press is in use.</p> |
