Lifting and reversing arm for plate material - has gear rack and pinion drive for arm with suction cups or electromagnets

The reversing arm for plate material is attached to a gear pinion which is in mesh with a vertical rack. The free end of the arm is provided with vacuum suction cups or with electromagnets. A guide bar which is fixed parallel with the rack restricts the vertical movement of the arm assembly prior to its reversing motion. After placing a flat object on top of the arm the rack and the guide bar are lifted vertically upwards until the end roller on the guide bar reaches the adjustable stop on the support frame. The rack then rotates the gear pinion until the arm has rotated through an angle of 180 deg., thus having reversed the plate it carries.
