<p>A building board or panel, esp. for external walling, comprises a light metla, esp. Al sheet and a plastics layer with embedded quartz sand, baked into the surface of the Al. The plastics layer is pref. 0.5-1 mm. thick and the rear face of the metal sheet may have a polystyrene foam sheet laminated onto it. Panel can be used for rapid erection of external walls of buildings, as an economical and easily handled alternative, in particular to asbestos cement sheets. A typical panel is considerably lighter than asbestos cement and can be handled by one man instead of two and is furthermore easily bent to fit around window and door frames, thus considerably reducing site erection work.</p> |
