<p>The portable conveyor system is for people or goods and consits of a collapsible support body (18) and a continuous loop of flexibly, coupled segments (12), positioned above the support, over part of its length. An air gap (16) is formed between support and segments and there is a unit to feed pressurized air into the support. A member (24) is positioned above the support and the loop passes over it to supply pressurized air from the support into the air gap. The loop is driven and there is a side seal arrangement (28) to form a sealed contact between loop and support. The support consists of two parallel flexible air bags, with upper surfaces inclined towards each other. The correspondingly-shaped loop is supported and centred between the bags.</p> |
