Known swell controls for electric guitars are operated by the player's foot, but provide only a coarse control esp. when the instrument is played standing. Other known controls are operated by the ball of the thumb, but this interferes with the freedom of the player's plucking fingers. The control is accessible to the forearm of the player's plucking hand. Pushing a knob down towards the body of the instrument moves a pivoted arm inside, and ultimately the slider of the volume control potentiometer. Rotating the same knob before starting to play sets a stop for the pivoted arm, corresponding to the min. vol. of sound desired.
|
