<p>The high current disconnector has a current-carrying conductor pivoting in a vertical plane with contact fingers on each side. The contact fingers (1-5) are U-shaped so that at a short circuit the electromagnetic forces tend to increase contact pressure. The contact fingers have circular cross-sections and act against opposing button contacts. The free areas of the Us are longer than the fixed arms to increase the electromagnetic retaining force. The copper pieces (8, 9) supporting the contact fingers are twice as thick as the fingers.</p> |
