Continuous dyeing of cellulosic and polyamide textiles - with substantive, reactive and vat dyes in presence of electrolytes

The continuous dyeing of textiles on a foulard comprises impregnating the heated textile with the hot bath from a minimal reserve which, because of the continuous uptake and addn. of liq., is renewed in the shortest time possible. The required addn. of electrolyte and/or opt. additional heating, to bring the temp. of the bath to b. pt., is effected in one or two baths, such that the uptake and diffusion of the dyestuff occurs simultaneously in the foulard bath. The total dyeing time is reduced with increased prodn. and decreased energy requirements.
