Multiple pinion drive for high torques - has drive to differential casing and outer sun wheel acting as transfer gear

A drive for very high torques and designed for reduction in size is used on gearwheels of large diameter. The drive pinion meshes with the planet wheel carrier and the outer sun wheel (12) of the planet system acts as transfer gear. To arrange for multiples of two pinions on the gearwheel (6) there are at least two planet sets (2) connected to a by-pass gear (3) via the inner sun wheel (14). The outer sun wheel of the planet set (2) meshes with at least one of the hweels driven by the pinion (8). The spur pinion has inclined teeth.
