Rotary forging machine with four radial hammers - has rams designed to reduce impact wear and noise

The rams are located radially round the forging axis in a housing, and pressure rolls mounted in a cage rotate round the housing. A pressure ring is located outside the pressure rolls which drive the rams radially inwards. The outer ends of rear surfaces of each ram are provided with two projections or humps, the distance between the humps corresp. with the angular pitch of the pressure rolls. The humps are pref. equidistant from the axis of the rams. Prevents excessive wear on the back ends of the rams and also reduces noise.
