Level regulation of washing machine and dish washer has separating wall, discharging and ventilating hoses, and overflow edge. The separating wall is positioned between the tub and a small volume chamber. An air trap is formed for a level switch on top of the chamber. The overflow edge of the separating wall is positioned in line with a specific filling level. The chamber (6) is connected to a fresh water feed pipe (16). The opening cross-section of the fresh water feed pipe is such that the filling level (4) of the tub is reached before the nominal level (9) of the air gap of the chamber.
