The dot matrix printer is equipped with a selection circuit (1) for several test points, a measurement range selector (2), an analog/digital converter (3) and a storage unit (4) which are controlled by a central processor (7). The storage unit (4) contains storage counters for the measurement values digitised in the analog/digital converter (3). During the transit of the print head (5) over the printing width, several test points are to be covered by a flying calibration. In addition, the print head (5), which can be moved transversely to a recording strip by a stepping motor (9) should record several measurement values during the transit by means of several print pins allocated to the test points. For this purpose, one of the storage counters is allocated to each print pin of the print head (5); furthermore, counting inputs of the storage counters and one control input of a stepping motor control circuit (8) are connected to the output of a stepping pulse generator. Stop signals for the stepping motor (9) and print signals for the print pin allocated to the relevant storage counter are then derived from carry pulses of storage counter bits with the highest significance. <IMAGE> |
