<p>The arrangement is for producing mechanical energy by causing a heavier liquid to rise by capillary action and displace a lighter liquid, which runs downwards, the liquids being separated by flexible diaphragms. It comprises a container for a light oil in which two water containers are arranged, one above the other, and connected by a riser tube comprising a buffer vessel halfway. The containers tube and vessel are filled with cotton wool and the water and oil spaces are separated by diaphragms at both ends. The entire assembly is rotatable about a central shaft and during the liquid displacement phase, is prevented from rotating by a stop. Initially, the oil column passes the water up to the vessel, from which the water then rises through capillary actions to above the oil level.</p> |
