The three-phase HV switchgear is encapsulated and insulated by compressed gas, and has an isolator in the phase conductor. Each phase conductor is connected at a right angle to the main busbars. The isolator (1) has an operating shaft (a) for each pole, which passes across a main busbar (6) and runs concentrically through the phase conductor (4) in the outgoing line (3). The operating shaft has at its end a movable switching pin (8) by which the isolating gap between fixed contacts (13, 11) is bridged. The switching pin is operated by a worm gear at the end of the operating shaft.
