<p>1471738 Injection-moulding; recycling residue GLOBE-UNION Inc 28 May 1974 [31 May 1973] 23640/74 Heading B5A [Also in Division F2] A material processing system, e.g. for use with injection-moulding apparatus comprises storage means, e.g. hopper 86 for a predetermined amount of material, return means, e.g. conduit 24 to recycle residue from the apparatus to the storage means, supply means, e.g. conduit 26 to to supply fresh material from a source thereof to the storage means and a valve 22 to connect the storage means to either the supply means or the return means. The material is fed via ducts 18 or 20, duct 16 to cyclone separator 82 and hopper 86 feeding injection-moulding machine 74 via conduit 88. Residue, e.g. sprues, runners &c is placed in hopper 76 emptying into grinder 78 and receptacle 80 for recycling via duct 24. A vacuum drawn at 84 draws material into separator 82. After a run of machine 74, if the level in hopper 86 has fallen below a predetermined level, switch 92 actuates timer 90 which actuates grinder 78 via switch 98 and valve 22 appropriately via switch 65. After all the residue has passed through valve 22, the valve is switched to provide fresh material, the timer 90 being preset to supply sufficient fresh material for the correct ratio of fresh residual plastics.</p> |
