<p>1471824 Riveting ADOLF DIENER APPARATE UND MASCHINENBAU 16 April 1975 [20 April 1974(2)] 15546/75 Heading B3U In a blind riveting tool comprising a pneumatic cylinder 27 having a piston rod 30 which is movable by compressed air when a valve 17 is opened by a hand lever 13 to cause hydraulic fluid to be forced from an hydraulic cylinder 33 into a cylinder 44 accommodating a piston 64 connected to a mandrel gripping mechanism 4, the pneumatic cylinder 27 is provided with a valve 100 for allowing compressed air to escape to atmosphere after a riveting operation. When compressed air is introduced into the cylinder 27 to initiate a riveting operation, a valve plate 102 of the valve 100 is forced against the bias of a spring 103 on to a valve seat 105 causing the valve 100 to close. When the valve 17 is closed at the end of a riveting operation by releasing the hand lever 13, the piston 64 connected to the mandrel gripping mechanism 4 is moved back by a spring 71, causing the hydraulic fluid to push back the piston rod 30 of the pneumatic cylinder 27, and the valve 100 is opened by the spring 103 allowing the compressed air to rapidly escape to atmosphere.</p> |
