The device for carrying containers has members for positioning over the corners of a container, each member comprising an arm attached at its upper end to two arms of a parallelogram linkage, the arms being mounted on the chassis of the device. A ram deforms the linked to move the container positioning arm between a retracted position, above the chassis and within the chassis perimeter, and an operative position below the chassis. When the arm is in its operative position lateral movements of the arm are prevented by stops on the respective corner of the chassis, the stops cooperating with the operating arm or the lower arm of the linkage. |
