1471960 Flooring INTERMERCURY FINANCE & TRADING CO Ltd 29 April 1974 [9 May 1973] 18724/74 Heading EIB A method of producing a floor comprises applying a levelling layer 11 to an uneven sub-floor 10, allowing it to harden and then bonding directly thereto with adhesive, in butt-jointed manner, a plurality of laminated tiles, each tile including a core 14 of close pored rigid framed plastics, preferably polyurethane and an outer further rigid layer on each face of the core, and said core constituting a major portion of the tile thickness. The core preferably has a honeycomb reinforcing grid 15 of metal or plastics. The surface layers may be wood chip board and vapour resistant plywood or a foil of black iron or plastics with a tar board bonded thereto. The top plate may be slightly offset from the core to provide overlapping joints. The tiles may be arranged to define a conduit in which case the edge at the conduit is recessed to receive a cover plate. |
