<p>1471429 Valves A KNAPP 12 Nov 1974 [28 Nov 1973] 48813/74 Heading F2V An hydraulic thermostatic mixing valve has a movable throttling member 6 controlled by a thermometric element 7 to co-operate with apertures 21, 22 in hot- and cold-flow paths respectively, the apertures in the cold-flow path being more restrictive to flow so that the coldflow is less when member 6 is symmetrically placed with respect to the hot and cold inlet apertures and for the delivery temperature to be intermediate of the hot and cold inlet temperatures the member 6 is caused to assume a position proximate to throttling the warm supply. The orifices 21, 22 may be castellations of different widths, for hot- and cold-flows, formed in a tubular member 20, alternatively a fixed member (23), Fig. 5 (not shown), may provide greater fixed throttling of the cold-flow.</p> |
