1471576 Transfer printing SUBLISTATIC HOLDING SA 11 July 1974 [12 July 1973] 30867/74 Heading B6C [Also in Division D1] The invention comprises temporary carriers for use in the thermoprinting technique, comprising a print produced from one or more substances which, at atmospheric pressure, vaporize at above 160‹ C., the print being carried by a sheet or strip of vegetable parchment or a paper containing 20 to 25% of hemi-cellulose and beaten and calendered to make the paper transparent. The print is preferably made using a practically anhydrous ink or one or more dyestuffs which, at atmospheric pressure, vaporize at above 160‹ C. A more preferred print is formed from a cellulosic ether and at least one of the following dyestuffs: 1,4-dimethyl or 1,4 - diisopropyl - aminoanthraquinone, a mixture of mono- or di-brominated- or chlorinated - 1,5 - diamino - 4,8 - dihydroxyanthraquinone, 3 - hydroxyquinophthalone, 1 - amino - 4 - hydroxy - 2 - phenoxyanthraquinone, 1 - amino - 2 - cyano - 4 - anilinoanthraquinone, 1 - amino - 2 - cyanocyclohexylaminoanthraquinone, 1,4 - diamino - 2,3- dichloroanthraquinone the methyl, ethyl, propyl or butyl esters of 1,4-diaminoanthraquinone-2- carboxylic acid, and 1-amino-2-chloro-4-hydroxyanthraquinone; or from an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal hydroxide, a cationic dyestuff and a binder. The temporary carriers of the invention may be used to effect dry dyeing of synthetic materials, e.g. polyethylene terephthalate, a synthetic polyamide, cellulose acetate or polyacrylonitrile. |
