The stator lamination construction for large electrical machines is of the modular type to reduce problems of handling and transport. The stator assembly can be easily dismantled for testing and replacement. The steel laminations of ring or segment outline are assembled in groups (1a) (1b). Each lamination is insulated by a special material with a Nitrile-Phenolic base. This also serves as a binder. Each stack of laminations is held in a clamping-ring (2) and separated by a packing piece (4). Any number of the lamination modules may be bolted together (2b) (2c) and the complete stator assembly is fitted with end rings (3) bolted to the outer lamination stack clamping rings (2). |
