<p>1428913 Electrostatic transducers ELECTROSTATIC RESEARCH CORP 23 March 1974 13005/74 Heading H4J An electrostatic transducer comprises a pair of annular frames 22 clamping a high resistivity coated diaphragm 12 at its centre 14 and rim 16 and each carrying an electrode in the form of a flat spiral of sheathed conductor 112. An intermediate diaphragm region may also be clamped by an annular rim 26 extending above ribs 24 to which the electrode is attached by epoxy 40. The conductor 112 and a spacing wire 118, Fig. 4, are wound together in one or more annular chambers defined by mating parts 52, 54, 56 of a winding jig so that the conductor turns are evenly spaced. A wax coating on surface 64 of jig part 52 is melted by the passage of current in conductor 112 to temporarily hold the coil. The jig is dismantled and part 52 assembled with a frame 22 whose electrode support ribs 24 are coated with epoxy which is subsequently cured to affix the electrode and wax melted to release the jig part 52.</p> |
